This extension allows visitors to your Zope web site to send you AIM instant messages without having an AIM account, installing the AIM client, or any special software. This product includes the Py-TOC software developed by Jamie Turner. Due to the trust model of IM networks, nobody is allowed to send a message unless they have an IM account. Thus, this extension requires use of a dummy 'proxy' account that will send the messages on to you. You must first create the proxy account, and then change a couple lines in the extension file, which are detailed in the README.txt. I have also developed a similar solution that used to work for Yahoo! Instant Messenger through the use of a much-hacked version of the Curphoo program. Though it no longer works due to changes in the YM protocol, it is available upon request.
